Gull's Landing
About the Series
The quaint seaside town of Gull’s Landing, New Jersey is an ideal spot for strolling the boardwalk or enjoying the view from the homes along the beachfront. But this summer hotspot isn’t just for tourists—the women who grew up in Gull’s Landing are what really hold the town together.
Each book of the Gull’s Landing books can be read on its own but there’s a common thread tying them all together. Each one features a trio of women as they do their best to make the most out of their current phase of life (and survive the rumor mill), starting with The Summer Society.
Decades ago, Bea, Sophia, Diane, and Sue formed a pact—meet in Gull’s Landing every summer. Now, with one of them gone, the three remaining women meet up once more in an attempt to recover (or escape) from the losses in their lives.
In The Garden Guild, we travel a little further inland, as Lillian tries to move forward after her husband’s death by returning to the comforts of the past. But her gardening club thinks that she’s responsible for her husband’s death.
Meanwhile, socialite (and incurable gossip) Betsy Borden and twice-divorced Emily Addams must learn that—in order to be a true friend—you first have to work on yourself.
In the final installment of the series, The Country Club, Meryl Preston is wondering what to do with the crumbling country house that just fell into her lap. Is she up to the task of turning this family business around?
Perhaps Delia and Lucy—who both have something to prove—can help create a place where each of them feel like they belong.
Awash with strong female friendships, intriguing mystery, and a hint of romance, Gull’s Landing will remind you that life is better when you have loved ones by your side.
More About the Series
While most of my books are inspired by the hometowns of my own family, Gull’s Landing is based on the Atlantic coast, where my husband’s family spent summers growing up.
I may not share those warm memories of days “down the shore,” but I love being a part of such a welcoming family. In a way, writing the Gull’s Landing series helps me feel like one of the tribe!
