Heirloom Island
About the Series
Heirloom Island might be a tiny spit of land just off the shore of Birch Harbor, but it’s bursting with larger-than-life locals and a hint of small-town mystery.
The series follows the (tumultuous) life and times of the Sageberry sisters—Darla, Tatum, and Cadence—as they shift gears to follow long-held dreams. But “happily ever after” is easier said than done.
Featuring the same beloved landscape as Birch Harbor (with a surprise appearance by a beloved Hickory Grove resident!), Heirloom Island might be a favorite among tourists, but it’s the locals that will make you want to visit again and again!
The series opens with The Boardwalk House, as Darla Sageberry finds herself facing a mid-life crisis head-on (about two decades too soon). Reeling after calling off her wedding, Darla vows to live life on her own terms, starting with her dream of living on an island.
The only problem is that she can’t afford a tropical spot in the Caribbean, so her estranged sister’s house on Heirloom Island will have to do.
In The Manger House, Tatum Sageberry is finally realizing her dream of opening an animal shelter. But with so much on her plate, she doesn’t have time for romance. That us, until handsome bachelor Rip Van Dam starts hanging around. And he’s not just there for the puppies….
When December rolls around, the Sageberry sisters are determined to make it the best Christmas ever. But the holiday season is busier than ever. If only they could find some time to create “peace on earth.”
Things have finally settled down for the sisters in The Abbey House, but a scandal threatens to disrupt the calm waters. To make matters worse, a new discovery brings the scandal a little too close to home.
The Sageberrys might not have their lives in order just yet, but they have plenty of love to go around. Family, romance, and a sprinkle of mystery will ensure that you keep coming back to Heirloom Island (and not just for the gooseberry pie).
More About the Series
When I was young, I had the pleasure of visiting Mackinac Island, Michigan during one magical summer. To add to the excitement, my mother gifted me a book about the famous island with no motor vehicles. I loved both the book and the real thing and, once I started writing, I knew I had to create my own version of this beautiful place!
While my home in the Arizona mountains is about as far as you can get from Mackinac Island, I feel like Heirloom Island brings me a little bit closer with every turn of the page.
