Prairie Creek
About the Series
In Prairie Creek, South Dakota, the pioneer spirit is as wide as the prairie sky. The American heartland makes the ideal backdrop for a rotating cast of characters, each looking for a fresh start.
In The Country Cottage, a scandal sends influencer Kelly Watts scrambling for cover. On the brink of being canceled, she just needs a place to lay low while her PR team cleans up the mess.
Meanwhile, Logan Ryerson is trying to grab the reins of the family bed & breakfast after his great-aunt’s passing. But this charming cottage is proving to be less like a tame pony and more like a bucking bronco. A celebrity guest could be just what the business needs.
We revisit the Ryerson family in The Thimble Shoppe, as seamstress Mabel receives a social media request from her grandmother. The only problem? Her grandmother died two weeks ago.
Desperate to get to the bottom of this technological mystery, she returns to the only place she can find answers: Prairie Creek. There, she reunites with her handsome lumberjack ex-boyfriend, Griffin Ryerson, who’s picking up the pieces of a family business that’s going under.
Will the two manage to stitch together a homespun romance? Or will Mabel’s fiancé get the girl?
The next two installments in the Prairie Creek saga take place in the warmth and magic of the holiday season. In A Homestead Holiday (coming November 15, 2022), culinary teacher Molly Carrigan is forced to change jobs. As she tries to decide on a new career path, she’s thrust right into the enemy’s camp. It’s really too bad that he’s rugged and handsome to boot.
If you can’t get enough Christmas, you’ll love A Prairie Creek Christmas (coming December 6, 2022). This quick read follows Erika Lee’s efforts to get her new dog grooming business off the ground. A chance encounter with a handsome stranger could be the answer to her prayers. All she has to do is pretend to be his girlfriend for one night.
Plenty of sweet romance and heartwarming moments round out this tribute to yesteryear. If you’re a fan of the Little House series or just love good old-fashioned Americana, get on board the wagon train and head to Prairie Creek!
More About the Series
Prairie Creek was inspired by my father’s upbringing in rural South Dakota. I always love the appeal of small-town Main Street, but this series allows me to also explore the ways that the modern world blends with rural America.
Despite having a heart that yearns for the “pioneer days,” I’m fully aware of the role technology plays in my writing.
If you, too, feel like an old soul in a modern world, Prairie Creek could be the home for you. I hope you love it here as much as I do!
